This is “The Gateway”, AIM’s base in Ej. Buenos Aires (outside of Matamoros).  Above is the main building that contains the kitchen, dining area, and plays host to most of our meetings/training sessions.

This is the building where we live.  The guys are on the left; girls on the right.  The picture on the right is of the guy’s side.  Not too messy…

Me (duh).  The one on the left is of me the first full day there.  I posted for a few people who would appreciate the fact that I’m wearing a tye-dye v-neck and bandana (and what you can’t see is the chacos).  Yes, I left Austin to learn how to fit in when I get back, haha! The picture on the right is me completely covered in mud after our night of games and sliding in the mud.  Fun times!

Laundry washed BY HAND (my favorite new lifestyle change!):
(Left): The different buckets for soaking, washing, and rinsing our clothes.  We soak our clothes in clean water, put them in water and detergent, agitate them, let them sit, and agitate them again, and then finally wring them out and rinse them in clean water before hanging them on the line.  (Right):  My clothes in the soaking bin.

(Left): Cherise and Jenessa “agitating” some laundry.  And yes, we use plungers to do so.  Afterall, we’re missionaries!  (Right):  Jessica and myself moving clothes from the soak bin to the wash bin.

My clothes on the line to dry.  My team determined that my laundry is the “happy laundry” of our group because of the plethera of brightly-colored clothes that I wear!

Well, I hope you enjoyed getting to see a few of the daily, albeit less spiritual, side of my new life.  I truly am enjoying every second here!
